About What'sAd?
My journey into advertising on AI platforms, and what it might mean for your business.
Who is even this guy?
Fair question! My name is Carlos Gonzalez, I have 5+ years of experience in Marketing & Communications. After three years fighting for my dream of resuming my career in Canada, I finally made it!
Now, I have the unique opportunity to step into the rather new, known by a few, and hyper-hyped field of advertising on AI platforms. So, to make it even more fun, and hopefully less confusing, I have decided to share my learning journey on this blog.
What’s in it for you?
If you are a small or medium business owner, marketer, or decision-maker feeling curious about the hype around advertising on artificial intelligence platforms, you are in the right place.
Or maybe not.
Like you, I'm here to show you my learning process on the matter. And, since learning involves getting things wrong every once in a while, I don't expect this blog to be the exception.
What'sAd? is my open study notebook on advertising on AI platforms, a plain-language resource designed to help you and me answer some of the tricky questions that ads on AI will start raising in this new era for advertising.
Where I honestly stand (and where I don't)
I’m a communicator, not an advertising, technology or AI expert.
I’m learning this field in real time, through my day-to-day study and a university continuing-education course in PR and digital communications strategy from the University of Toronto. (Alison, if you're reading this, you're an amazing teacher!)
That’s why this blog exists.
What you’ll find here.
Research, expert interviews, audience polls, podcast recommendations, and op-eds. I’ll cite my sources, date every post, tell you when I’m unsure, and correct my mistakes publicly.
One more thing you should know. Because I work in this industry, I have a professional interest in it. At the same time, I will not reveal information of any kind related to my workplace. Instead, on this blog I will share with you the insights I will gather along the way to then be able to use them in my professional development.
I’ll always be upfront about that, and you can read the details in my Disclaimer.
